Zane Wheeler

From darkness to redemption — and into the work of helping others find the same.

My name is Zane Wheeler, and my story isn't a tidy one.

I'm a Faith Coach and certified Christian Counselor based in Occidental, CA — a small town tucked into the redwoods of Sonoma County that most people have never heard of, but that feels like exactly the kind of place God would put someone who does this kind of work.

For years I lived in the darkness. I was involved in the occult, lost in addiction, searching for something I couldn't name. I built a successful hypnotherapy practice, helped a lot of people, and still felt something fundamental was missing.

Then I met Jesus Christ. Not a religion. Not a set of rules. Him. And everything changed.

I took a sabbatical. I sat with God. I rebuilt from the inside out. And when I came back — with a fresh Christian counseling credential and a clearer sense of purpose than I've ever had — I knew exactly what I was called to do.

To walk alongside people in their darkness the way someone once walked alongside me.

If you're carrying something heavy right now — anxiety, spiritual confusion, addiction, past wounds, a faith that feels distant, a marriage that feels broken — you're in the right place. Healing is not only possible. It's God's design for you.

I see clients in person in Sonoma County and online nationwide. The first consultation is always free. I'd love to hear your story.

Zane Wheeler is a certified Christian Counselor through Presence College, with over a thousand hours of experience in Clinical Hypnotherapy and coaching. A lifelong student of psychology, world history, and religion, Zane brings a broad and deeply curious mind to every session. His faith isn't a backdrop — it's the foundation. Outside of his practice, he is a devout Christian, a happy husband, a father of three, and an avid fine woodworker — someone who understands that the most meaningful things are built slowly, with care and intention.

“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” - Psalm 32:7-8
